The House that Jack Built is also a film that centres on a serial killer. It is a Lars Von Trier movie (remember that name for later) that pushes the envelope with its subject matter and imagery. The film follows Jack as he discusses his murders with the poet Virgil and treats them as though they are artworks.

A particularly disturbing scene comes from when Jack has taken a mother and her two sons out to teach them to hunt. He then proceeds to use them as targets and mercilessly shoots the children in front of their mother. Afterwards, he contorts their bodies and forces her to eat a picnic with them, and then finally finishes the poor woman off.

This isn't even the most disturbing part. That title comes from seeing the mutilated corpse of one of the children made to look alive through taxidermy in the freezer room where Jack keeps the bodies. The poor child's mouth is forced into a Joker-like grin with wires and its horrendously uncanny.

For its great acting and some fantastic cinematography, this film is worth a watch. But this awful moment is hardly the only disturbing occurrence in the flick.
