The late Roger Ebert summed up perfectly the problem with Rob Schneider's films in his response to a spat with the former SNL "comedian"'s movie Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo: "Your movie sucks". Following Ebert's death, Schneider said in an interview that Ebert "made me reassess what pictures I really wanted to make and how I got to make a movie in the first place that even I wasn't happy with" Unfortunately if the cinematic evidence is anything to go by, that assessment fell short of putting Rob Schneider on a path to making better movies - if anything, he keeps on getting worse. Sure, Schneider displays a lot of energy on screen but when it comes to his various persona they occupy the same level of comedy nuance and insight as you might find in the average teenage boy. Yet despite the fact that Schneider isn't capable of being genuinely funny and has to resort to infantilism to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and on top of that his Rotten Tomatoes page is a sea of green splodges, Hollywood keeps on giving him work. There are another three Schneider movies coming our way in the next two years alone.
