10 Indications The Golden Globes Have Given Us For The Oscars

9. Best Original Song Gets A Plausible Frontrunner

Coming into the Golden Globes, it seemed that this award would unanimously go to either €œLet It Go€ from Frozen or €œPlease, Mr. Kennedy€ from Inside Llewyn Davis. "Let It Go" is far and away the best original song in an in-house Disney film since anything in The Lion King. It simply seems poised and destined for glory. These panels just love dropping total surprises on us though as from completely out of left field, "Ordinary Love" by U2 from Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom snatched up the Golden Globe. Is this a causation of the recent real life passing of Nelson Mandela? It€™s a serious question with no malice or disrespect intended, but this could possibly be Hollywood€™s avenue of rewarding the efforts of the relevant film, which - being brutally honest - isn€™t good enough to take home any other major awards. The Globes and Academy sporadically agree here, too, so it€™s possible that "Ordinary Love" isn€™t a definitive lock, but it€™s certainly gaining steam. The Academy also is known to give out posthumous awards, most notably with Heath Ledger€™s portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight.
