As a quick palette cleanser, let’s look at a small but obvious continuity error.

After the Sanctuary II levels Avengers HQ, the Hulk, War Machine and Rocket are trapped beneath a collapsing structure. Banner is concentrating on holding up what’s left of the building, while Rhodey has to spring his armour’s canopy to get out: the implication from the red warning lights, the beeping and the fritzing of electricity is that War Machine is kaput.

Let’s not forget that the War Machine suit is old school armour, not nanotech.

Rhodes drags himself by his arms over to lever Rocket out of the rubble, and we see that he’s got no brace on underneath the armour to keep his legs working. Then the water comes rushing in and begins to fill the gap they’re all trapped in.

As Ant-Man desperately scrambles through the wreckage to effect a rescue, the last we see is water up to their chins.

One badass fight between Thanos and the Big Three Avengers later, their reinforcements start pouring in through magical gateways… and a giant-size Ant-Man busts out of the rubble holding Hulk, Rocket… and War Machine.

That’s a War Machine in full working and flying order, despite the fact that the damn thing was clearly busted even before the cavity they were in was flooded, and despite Rhodey being nowhere near the armour, up to his neck in water, unable to walk the last time we saw him.
