2. Tomb Raider
The Original: 2001 Angelina Jolie-starring adaptation of the classic video game franchise, rightly lambasted by critics though financially successful. The same, however, cannot be said for the 2003 sequel, The Cradle of Life, which everyone seemed to hate.
How To Make It Not Suck: Here's a franchise that really could use a reboot, and the hard work is already done for the filmmakers. The video game franchise underwent a gritty reboot this year with the fantastic game Tomb Raider, re-imagining Lara Croft as a more realistically-proportioned, relatable woman who is thrown headlong into a vulnerable situation, and has to essentially become a savage to survive. A straight-up adaptation of the video game would pretty much work, and as long as they cast a good actress as Lara - not Megan Fox, folks - then this could course correct the awfulness of the previous Tomb Raider movies.
