10 Infamous Lines That Completely Ruined Decent Movies
3. "Every Time You Look Into The Future, It Changes" - Next
There are not enough words to describe how bloody infuriating the end to this Nicholas Cage film is. While any film from this century featuring the enigmatic lead man always needs to be looked on with suspicion, especially when it co-stars Jessica Biel, the floundering ending here is still disappointing.
Cage actually delivers a decent performance as Cris Johnson, a man who can see two minutes into the future. For reasons that remain unexplained, Cris has the ability to see further ahead of time when events involve his one true love, Jessica Biel's Lisa. The film is entertaining if you can switch your brain off, with Cris eventually working with Julianne Moore's FBI agent Callie Ferris to stop a Russian nuclear attack.
The movie plays out to a surprisingly strong conclusion, with Cris seemingly saving the life of Lisa, but unable to stop the Nuclear bomb. This ending would have been quite a good one, but for reasons only known to the writers, Cris wakes up next to a naked Lisa with the last day's events only being a vision.
The film then tries to justify its dupe of an ending, with Cage's Kris stating that "Every time you look into the future, it changes". The line of dialogue is meant to be philosophical and one to ponder over, but just reminds you of how much time you've wasted on this dud.
