3. Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon 2
The end of Lethal Weapon 2: The shoot out on the boat headed for South Africa. Martin Riggs takes a bullet and goes down. The bad guy laughs saying that Murtaugh cannot touch him because he has diplomatic immunity. Murtaugh squares off, aims his gun carefully, and delivers the classic line, "It's just been revoked." His gun explodes and kills the evil Arjen Rudd. He then runs to Riggs, cradling his dying partner in his arms. Except, his partner is not dying. Riggs laughs off the bullet and Murtaugh joins him. More police began showing up and they all live to fight crime another day. However, in that final moment screenwriter Shane Black did intend for Riggs to die. He was meant to expire from the loss of blood in Murtaugh's arms.
