1. Wicker Man (2006)
A sheriff is brought in to investigate the disappearance of a young girl on a remote island and finds a pagan matriarchal society. Nicolas Cage was lost in the mire in this remake of the 1973 original of the same name, and co-starring Ellen Burstyn and Leelee Sobieski the mystery while revealed makes you want to walk away. Normally a movie where the character is led to a conclusion opposite of what is the truth can be stimulating but merely seemed implausible and ho-hum here. Only Burstyn as the Queen Bee of the island had any sting, and Cage is dense to where it is almost a fitting and deserving ending for his character. So there are our ten inferior remake.
