10 Infuriating Movie Cliff-hangers You Didn't Realise Had Answers

7. Dinosaurs In Canada - Jurassic Park III

Inception Dicaprio

It took until the sixth Jurassic Park movie to properly integrate dinosaurs into the wider world. Sure, there were a couple of T-Rexes in San Diego during The Lost World, but they were soon taken care of, and the tease at the end of Jurassic Park III of an escape seemingly came to nothing.

At the conclusion of the third movie in the franchise, as Alan and co. flew home, they were joined by a flock of Pteranodons, clearly teasing that these prehistoric beasts were heading for human habitats. Fast forward 14 years to Jurassic World however, and they were apparently forgotten.

For answers in this case, you have to look to the website of the fictional Masrani Global company. As a page set up to be something of an official movie tie-in, details can be found about different aspects of Simon Masrani's company, including In-Gen Security Direct.

Here it is confirmed that the Pteranodons that escaped Isla Sorna made it as far as Canada before being hunted down by Vic Hoskins. Vincent D'Onofrio's character was colourfully described as being in charge of "the infamous reptile cleanup operation over Canada in 2001", which led to him being hired by Masrani.
