10 Infuriating Movie Cliff-hangers You Didn't Realise Had Answers

6. Sully's Relationship With Boo - Monsters Inc.

Inception Dicaprio
Pixar

One of the staples of almost every Pixar movie is gut-wrenching emotion. Whether it is toys staring into the fiery abyss, robots falling in love, or the devastating story told of two soulmates across the opening ten minutes, if you're watching Pixar, chances are you're going to cry.

This was absolutely the case with Sully and Boo's relationship in Monsters Inc. The monster and the young girl he should never have met grew to be incredibly close, and just as it seemed that they would never see each other again, Mike pieced together her door so that they could.

Boo saw her Kitty at the end of the film, but what happened next? She was referenced in Monsters At Work, but never in the context of their future, so the audience never gets to see if or how exactly Sully and Boo maintained their relationship. The answer, as it turns out, is in the details of the cancelled Monsters Inc. sequel.

Before it ultimately became Monsters U, the second Monsters movie was set to be titled Lost in Scaradise, and would have seen Mike and Sully searching the human world for Boo after they found an old woman in her place behind her door. Get ready for more tears, because they would have discovered that time moves quicker in the human world, and that the old lady hooked up to machines was in fact Boo. She managed to see and recognise Sully one last time before passing away.
