8. Does Blake Become Batman, Robin Or Nightwing? - The Dark Knight Rises

The Cliffhanger: The Dark Knight Rises ends in spectacular fashion as Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) fakes his own death in order to live a quiet, unassuming life...visiting fancy restaurants in Florence with his jewel thief girlfriend, Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway). Yeah. The most enigmatic aspect of the ending is that Wayne gifts the Batcave to super-idealistic former cop John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), with viewers being left to wonder whether Blake will simply become Batman, take up the mantle as Robin (considering the reference to his given name being Robin John Blake), or perhaps even Nightwing. What Probably Happened: This one's tough to call, and there are passionate advocates in all three camps. Though the idea of the rather wiry Blake fitting into the Batsuit seems pretty ridiculous, we imagine with a little working out and some tailoring adjustments, he'd make for a fine Batman, in fact, a better, more committed Batman than Bruce Wayne ever was or could be. Blake becoming Robin just seems a little on the nose, as the Robin reference was just too playful, though Nightwing seems distinctly more likely. Though we'll presumably never know now that Batman is being half-rebooted in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman seems like the most logical identity for Blake's superhero.
