6. The Wizard Of Oz - Was Toto Euthanised When Dorothy Returned To Kansas?
Little Dorothy may have followed the yellow brick road to find the Emerald City and return home, but the film forgot the reason she ran away from home in the first place. Her little dog Toto was going to be put down for biting the leg of her cruel neighbour Miss Gulch. So while Dorothy (and Toto) may have had plenty of adventures with the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion and the Scarecrow, in the end The Wizard Of Oz is a tale of tragedy, not hope. The tornado took her to a faraway land to escape her neighbour and save her dog but Dorothy found a way back, only for Toto to be snatched from her arms and killed. At least that's probably how the film went after the credits rolled. We'll never really know because that little sub plot got dropped in favour of the happy ending the film presented.
