1. Christian Bale Batman Begins (2005)
So, Christian Bale is said to have gained 100 pounds in the six months he had post-Machinist for Batman Begins, thus causing several swooning women to sigh, relieved. Then, Bale realized Christopher Nolan didnt want him to be that bulky, so he scaled back down to 190, losing about 30 pounds. Hes like a human yo-yo! Its not surprising that Bale didnt receive any Oscar love for Batman, seeing as how they seem to look down on Superhero flicks. But Bale finally got their attention Though itd take a few more bounces. First, he went and lost it all again for Rescue Dawn. Then, he gained it back for The Dark Knight. Finally, he lost it again for The Fighter. The Academy seemed to be getting tired of looking the other way and awarded him Best Supporting Actor.
