10 Insane Alternate Endings To 2017's Biggest Movies (So Far)

The genius of Jordan Peele's recent horror/comedy Get Out stems from the way in which it seamlessly entertains and unnerves in equal measure, and at no point in the movie is this made more apparent than in its brilliant ending.

After a relentlessly horrifying weekend at the house of his girlfriend's parents, Chris has killed said parents and shot said girlfriend in the chest after exposing an insane body-swapping procedure. As she lay dying in the road, a police car pulls up, and the audience are momentarily led to believe that Chris is going to be mistaken for a criminal and shot. Nope! It's just Rod, Chris' best buddy, who restates his opinion that Chris should never have gone on the trip in the first place. Happy times!

Talking about the ending, though, Jordan Peele revealed that Get Out could have very easily ended in an incredibly bleak manner. "There is an alternate ending in which the cops actually come at the end," the director explained. "He gets locked up and taken away for slaughtering an entire family of white people and you know he’s never getting out, if he doesn’t get shot there on the spot."

After everything that Chris - and we - have been through, however, it kind of feels necessary to the story being told that he survives, because... well, we need a hero!
