10 INSANE Credits Scenes You Probably Missed
1. The REAL Ending - Sinners
Even with audiences being conditioned to wait until the end of the credits these days, if social media is any indication many weren't expecting Ryan Coogler's recent smash hit Sinners to keep the story going into and beyond the credits.
In a bold move, the film's lengthy epilogue is actually a mid-credits sequence, taking place 60 years after the events of the main movie, where an elderly Sammie (Buddy Guy) crosses paths with the ageless, vampiric Stack (Michael B. Jordan) and Mary (Hailee Steinfeld), who are both revealed to have unexpectedly survived.
The pair offer to turn Sammie and grant him immortality, but he refuses, after which Sammie performs for them, they exchange pleasantries, and go their separate ways.
Those who wait all the way to the end will also get one more brief scene - a younger Sammie (Miles Caton) picking up his guitar in his father's church and playing "This Little Light of Mine".
Even the most "meaningful" credits scenes still generally feel like added value for the most dedicated of audience members, but Sinners' hidden epilogue basically feels like the real end of the movie. Wild.
