Set in a futuristic dystopia where society is divided into five factions that each represent a different virtue, teenagers have to decide if they want to stay in their faction or switch to another - for the rest of their lives.

When Divergent (based on Veronica Roth's poplar YA novels) hit theatres early last year, everyone was all, “Yay, Shailene Woodley!” but also like, “Wait, doesn't a dude get stabbed in the face in the book? Where’s that?” Yes, a dude indeed gets stabbed in the face in the book, and, as it turns out, the filmmakers actually filmed the scene. It just didn't make the 139-minute cut released in theatres.

In the scene, during an initiation, the #1 ranking transfer initiate, Edward (Ben Lamb), is stabbed in the eye in the middle of the night. It’s a pretty brutal moment, so it makes sense that they opted to cut it from a PG-13-rated film.

Some would argue that this Nicolas Winding Refn level of violence would have made the proceedings all the more enjoyable - but those same people probably don't have teenage daughters.
