3. It Takes Place In The Same Universe As Inception - Tenet
The Theory
Christopher Nolan's upcoming sci-fi blockbuster exists within the same world as his 2010 genre masterpiece Inception.
Why It Might Be True
Though all of Nolan's films are marketed under a sure air of mystery, the trailers for Tenet feel like they're playing things especially coy, as if to avoid spoiling a major conceit - perhaps, indeed, that it's in the same continuity as Inception.
The films look very consistent stylistically and tackle similarly mind-bending sci-fi concepts without contradicting one another, and hell, Michael Caine might even be playing the same character in both.
While Nolan seems like he'd turn his nose up at the idea of forging his own cinematic universe, there's clearly wiggle-room here for him to link the two movies together without making Tenet a direct sequel to Inception.
Basically, don't expect to see a Leonardo DiCaprio cameo or anything, but it's possible Caine could be playing his Inception character Professor Stephen Miles, or perhaps Nolan will include an Easter egg namedrop - for example, Inception's shadowy company Cobol Engineering.
