10 Insane Fan Theories For Upcoming Movies (That Might Actually Be True)

The Theory

This version of James Bond (Daniel Craig) will exit the franchise by sustaining a head injury, suffering from amnesia and starting a whole new life as a fisherman, neatly allowing a new actor to take up the 007 mantle in the next film.

Why It Might Be True

As daft as this might sound, the theory is actually rooted in Ian Fleming's source material. Bond 25's early working title was "Shatterhand", a reference to Dr. Guntram Shatterhand, a character in Fleming's 1964 novel You Only Live Twice, who is eventually revealed to be the iconic villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Though You Only Live Twice was technically adapted into a 1967 film, the plot diverges significantly from the source material, while the novel actually ends with Bond killing Blofeld, hitting his head, becoming an amnesiac and starting a new life as a Japanese fisherman while the rest of the world believes him dead.

The novel does finally tease Bond heading to Russia to reclaim his identity, because of course it does, but many fans nevertheless believe that this plotline could get a partial adaptation, though hopefully with a little less silliness.

In the very least, having Bond drop off the radar and "retire" would be a fitting end for this version of the character given everything he's been through.
