Shazam! remains one of the DCEU's most well-regarded films in the eyes of fans and critics alike. Though not a smash hit upon its initial release, the film earned a respectable amount of money at the box office, enough to warrant an upcoming sequel Shazam!: Fury of the Gods, due to be released in 2023.

Since the Flash will adapt elements from Flashpoint, DC has a golden opportunity to unite some of its fan favorite characters without having to drop a Justice League sequel. In Flashpoint, the Flash convinces Billy Batson and the rest of the Shazam family to help in the fight against the Amazonian army with disastrous results.

In one of the most insane moments in the storyline, Enchantress transforms Shazam! (in this timeline known as Captain Thunder) back into his mortal form allowing for an Amazonian to kill the young boy. If the Flash incorporates something similar in its storyline, it would break the internet.

It may seem counterintuitive to kill off a fan favorite just as his franchise is picking up steam, but remember this is a story about time travel and any left turn the narrative takes can be undone by hitting the timeline reset button. Fans could experience the agony of seeing Shazam! die only to rejoice when he's brought back once the timeline is set straight.
