10 Insane MCU Rumours Everyone Wanted To Be True
7. Red Hulk Makes An Appearance - Captain America: Civil War
The Rumour
With Captain America: Civil War marking Thaddeus Ross' (William Hurt) first appearance in an MCU movie since 2008's Iron Man, word promptly did the rounds that he was coming back for a more substantial, action-orientated role.
More to the point, Ross would transform into his Red Hulk alter-ego from the comics, leading to a fight between him and the regular Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) which was said to rival the Hulkbuster battle from Age of Ultron.
Given that the entire problem of putting Hulk in a Civil War movie is the speed with which he'd resolve the conflict, pitting him against an equally powerful and smarter force actually seemed like a neat way to mitigate that.
What Actually Happened
Not only was Red Hulk nowhere to be seen and has never appeared in the MCU to date - and, with William Hurt's recent passing, probably never will - but his big green bro was also missing from the entire movie.
Red Hulk was actually considered for inclusion in the film, though was ultimately decided against due to the already-crowded canvas of storylines and characters.
Marvel was also committed to keeping Hulk's location a secret after he jetted off at the end of Age of Ultron, until he was of course revealed to have a major role in Thor: Ragnarok.
