1. Dante Faked His Death - Another Simple Favor
Another Simple Favor is such a ramshackle sequel that it's not remotely surprising that vast swaths of the story almost went in another direction, as director Paul Feig himself confirmed shortly after the film's release.
In the final version of the film, Emily's (Blake Lively) new husband Dante Versano (Michele Morrone) is shot and killed, with the culprit eventually revealed to be Emily's unhinged triplet Charity (Blake Lively).
But Feig revealed that Dante was originally written to be "more of a bad guy," that he actually ended up faking his own death and framing Emily for it, forcing Emily and Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) to go on the run.
Feig added that this version of the story was "more of a caper" in the vein of a darkly comedic road movie, with Emily and Stephanie going undercover, but they ultimately decided to make a "more contained" sequel with a bigger body count.
Considering some of the utterly bats**t twists in the final film, Dante faking his own death to set Emily up would've fit in just fine.
