10 Insane Movie Sequels That We Really Wish Had Happened

It's A Sequel To: Batman & Robin (1997)

Batman & Robin pretty much put an end to Batman movies for a while, mainly because it was horrific in all the ways that it's possible for a movie to be horrific - worse than that, even.

Had it turned out better, however, we might've ended up with a further sequel, also courtesy of Joel Schumacher - a little film called Batman Unchained (often referred to incorrectly as "Batman Triumphant"), which just about sounds like the most insane superhero sequel ever.

Imagine, if you will, a movie that would have seen George Clooney going up against the entire villain gallery inherent to Warner Bros.' Batman franchise up to that point; inflicted with the Scarecrow's poison gas, the Dark Knight would have hallucinated everyone from Jack Nicholson's Joker to Jim Carrey's Riddler in one tour-de-force of a dream sequence.

What's more, the script for this thing - penned by Mark Protosevich - for was a tome of 150 pages and included wacky scenes such as one that sees Harley Quinn finding out that the Joker was her dad (?). It was written to be a tie-up of the entire franchise, but it just sounds crazy.

Regardless of whether or not it would have been any good (and in all likelihood it would have been awful), wouldn't it also have been marvellous in all its terribleness? Like five Batman & Robins all thrown into one; the zenith of Hollywood sequel excess at its most unhinged.
