10 Insane Movie Stunts They Filmed FOR REAL

6. Window Jump - The Bourne Ultimatum

Director Paul Greengrass is one of very few directors to use the rapid style of editing well and arguably his finest effort was 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum. Around halfway through, Jason Bourne and his associate Nicki Parsons head to Tangier to evade the eyes of deadly assassins.

This crafts a thrilling chase that leads the rogue spy across the rooftops and finally a rapid dash through tightly enclosed apartment blocks. All the way through, the cameraman followed closely behind, bounding over obstacles and capturing the chase from multiple angles. A massive rig was set up in the city to get cameras in all the right places, but the film maintains its close, intimate perspective on the action.

It was topped off by a massive alleyway jump into a glass window. This saw the operator jump with the stuntman to simulate the feel of the audience following Bourne straight into a vicious fight scene. Suspended from a wire, the shot was cut just before the cameraman dangled over the street.

It's a simple stunt when compared to others on the list, but it fits the realistic tone of the Bourne trilogy while also putting the physical limits of both actor and cameraman to the test.
