Disney's acquisition of Fox finally means that the MCU can officially use the word "mutant" in relation to super-powered individuals, which will inevitably lead to the introduction of the X-Men in due course.

Though back in 2019 Kevin Feige suggested that the X-Men were a good while off joining the franchise, there are those who believe the upcoming Eternals will sew the first seeds of their arrival.

There's basically no chance in hell the film will actually introduce any X-Men characters, but it's far more acceptable that it may be the first MCU film to use the word mutant in a pointed context.

Given that the Eternals and their enemies the Deviants are an offshoot of the evolutionary process that created humanity, there's certainly a neat "in" for mutants to also be spawned from this process.

Then again, given how recently the Disney-Fox merger took place, don't be surprised if neither the X-Men nor mutants of any kind are actually mentioned in the movie.
