10 Insane Rumours For Upcoming Movies
3. It Will Feature Feathered Dinosaurs - Jurassic World: Dominion
It's fair to say that the Jurassic Park franchise has well and truly bolstered the popular conception of dinosaurs in the minds of millions, even as modern scientific discoveries suggest that most dinosaurs were likely feathered.
Despite the first two Jurassic World movies being made many years after this discovery, they stayed the course and didn't include any feathered dinosaurs, likely due to the fact that audiences would reject it regardless of its factual basis.
And though the series has something of a free pass due to the park's dinosaurs all being genetically engineered by man, there are rumours which suggest the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion will finally introduce feathered dinos to the series.
Photos from the movie's set point to one of the featured dinosaurs being the Pyroraptor, which while not dissimilar to the Velociraptor has one major difference - it's widely accepted to have been covered in feathers.
Given that the Pyroraptor has actually appeared in official Jurassic World mobile games in its feathered form, there's existing precedent, and though the set photos don't show any feathers on the practical models, it's entirely possible the feathers will be added digitally during post-production.
It'd certainly be a win for dinosaur fanatics who have been banging the feathered drum for years now, even if the film is under absolutely no obligation to get things "right."
