Given that Michelle Rodriguez has seemingly confirmed that the upcoming ninth Fast and the Furious film will indeed take the Family to space, fans have since turned to debating the next big mystery - the presence (or not) of Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker).

Brian was of course written out of the series in Furious 7 due to the untimely death of Paul Walker, the movie using CGI to complete Walker's role and climaxing with an unexpectedly stirring farewell to both player and part.

Both Brian and his wife Mia (Jordana Brewster) were absent from The Fate of the Furious, though Mia will indeed be making a return in F9, and rumours are running rampant that Brian may also make a small appearance.

With word of Walker's brother Cody - who served as his stand-in during Furious 7 - being on F9's set, it's certainly possible that Brian has a brief reunion with the gang for a single scene.

Still, given how perfect Furious 7's send-off was, many fans will naturally find a CGI Paul Walker cameo unnecessary if not tasteless, no matter the intent of the cast and crew.

Considering that Hollywood has struggled to convincingly replicate dead actors in recent years - despite some solid efforts - this is probably best left alone, really.
