10 Insane Things In Massive Movies (That Everyone Just Ignores)
9. Jurassic Park - T-rex Enclosure Is Suddenly A Cliff
The T-rex breaking out of its enclosure will forever be one of cinemas greatest scenes. The slow build up of tension, the rumbling ripples in the water cup all leading to the inevitable terrifying reveal of the fearsome dinosaur. Even 25 years later the mix of CGI and animatronics is spectacular.
Alerted to the presence of the kids in the lead car, the towering dinosaur smashes its way through the sunroof and flips the car in an attempt to get them. When it fails the T-Rex begins to push towards the enclosure, at most about 30 feet from where it broke through the fence. Cut to our heroes now hanging over an enormous cliff.
Perhaps those little arms are better at climbing than we imagine, but it seems as though someone got a bit carried away during the shoot and forgot to do a continuity check. I understand why they went for it as the later scene of them ascending, and then rather rapidly descending from the tree is a great addition to the film. But having said that, would it have been so hard to have it knock them over the other side of the road?
