The original: Goonies never say die! Sloth love Chunk! Making fun of Data! Laughing every time somebody says One-Eyed Willie! The Goonies is probably best remembered as a bundle of catchprhases, but it's also one of the best kids movies ever made, with producer Stephen Spielberg and director Richard Donner perfectly capturing that naïve sense of adventure and discovery their young cast craves. Also, Cyndi Lauper. The sequel: The Goonies actually already kinda got a sequel. It's just that it was a video game, made by a Japanese developer, with a mermaid involved somehow. Much like Beetlejuice, however, there's been speculation since its release and success about a sequel. Even better than Beetlejuice, it's a cult classic, and people always want more of that! In fact, there's even been discussion of a Goonies II relatively recently. Which would not be good since now all of the principal actors are proper grown ups. Seeing Josh Brolin squeeze into his old vest and bandanna would be kinda sad. Sean Astin could probably use the money, admittedly.
