10. The Xenomorph Has Condoms In Its Mouth (Alien)
Uh, well, like I said before: sometimes you just have to work with what you've got available to you. And if what you've got available happens to be a box of condoms and they're just lying around the set of your space-based monster flick, like, not getting used, then I guess it makes sense to incorporate them. I think it's important to mention briefly that you wouldn't want to use said condoms later on for any, uh...
"extra-curricular" activities. And, indeed, this is totally what happened (not the extra-curricular part) during the construction process of
Alien's iconic and horrifically terrifying Xenomorph, when somebody decided that a couple of condoms would sit well in the creature's mouth cavities. They do achieve that required rubbery effect, I guess. And there's minimal chance of breakage, too, I suppose, which has gotta be important when it comes to props like this. All in all, then, this was a stroke of genius, I guess. Still, pretty weird.
