10 Insanely Weird Secrets Hidden In Movie Scenes
9. A Dolphin Sound Effect Is Used In The Racetrack Accident - The Final Destination
Now, few among us take the Final Destination movies remotely seriously, but even so, this is a pretty damn weird Easter egg hidden within the fourth film in the series, The Final Destination.
The film famously begins with an epically chaotic racetrack accident premonition sequence, and early in the scene, the camera lingers on a car speeding hastily through a puddle of spilled oil.
Listen carefully and you'll hear a possibly familiar sound...of an excited dolphin squealing with delight.
The sound effect has been used in literally hundreds of cartoons over the years, and yet, the film's sound editing team quite shamelessly used it to give the impression, badly, of a car slipping on oil.
It's not even that subtle, honestly, but even if you did manage to hear it, you'd probably assume your mind was playing tricks on you. But no, it's totally, absurdly real.
Hear it for yourself at 0:11 in the below clip, and its almost equally baffling appearance in Ridley Scott's American Gangster (at the 0:15 mark).
