10 Intriguing Star Wars Rogue One Trailer Moments That Weren't In The Movie

5. The Pilot Parade

The Jedha marketplace scenes were some of Rogue One's best; they were packed full of subtle nods to the other movies and helped the Star Wars universe feel like more of a lived in, tangible space.

This curious shot of a group of Rebel pilots being paraded about as prisoners from the first full trailer, however, did not make the final cut, for reasons unknown. There's a chance it could tie in with another omitted scene - Cassian's "I've been recruiting for the rebellion for a long time" line - but we just don't know.

Was there a subplot involving Cassian and these pilots on Jedha? Was he there to rescue them, and "recruit" them for the rebellion? Maybe all this was axed when it was decided to make him a much greyer character, like the one we see in the finished film. Perhaps originally, Cassian was a tad more heroic, but he just felt like another Han, or another Luke, so this was changed.

If this was the case, Disney made the right choice. Cassian's spinning moral compass kept Rogue One consistently engaging, leaving you wondering exactly what his next move would be.
