10 Intriguing Star Wars Rogue One Trailer Moments That Weren't In The Movie

4. Jyn's Glamorous Mid-Shot

As the first teaser trailer drew to a close, we were treated to a glimpse of Jyn, dressed in her Imperial uniform disguise, as the camera moves slowly toward her expressionless face.

As the shot appears onscreen, Saw's aforementioned speech plays, ending with the line "What will you become?" which, again, is nowhere to be heard in the movie.

The way the trailer paired this audio with this visual was very clearly an intentional decision, meant to spark conversations about Jyn's true allegiance come the end of Rogue One, but as we know, she's good to her core and she dies at the end of the film, so what gives? Why even imply that she defects to the Empire?

Granted, this was a very early trailer so lots of things could have changed between then and the release, but how likely is it that originally, Jyn was not only meant to survive, but she began working for the very people she'd resisted since she was a child.

Earlier this year there was some chatter that the Rogue One crew would be captured and turned into the Knights Of Ren, whether through mind control, torture or brainwashing; obviously that idea never came to fruition, but it's moments like this that make you suspect the notion could've been in play.
