8. Electro Magnetic RPM Controller Ring - Diamonds are Forever
Gadget: In Sean Connerys final (for real this time) official outing as James Bond, his mission is to find out who is intercepting diamonds en route to the open market, and then hoarding them for reasons unknown. One of the gadgets Q gives him this time is a ring that when worn produces an electro-magnetic field, which can be used to control the RPM of a conventional slot machine, ensuring a jackpot every time. Bond is later seen explaining the science behind this ring to Tiffany Case, when they spot Bond nemesis Blofield sneaking out of the Whyte House hotel in Las Vegas. Real World Application: Again, do I really need to spell out how awesome it would be to have one of these? OK, fine: This would be awesome to have so you could win lots of money. (Hey, just because Im primarily excluding weapons doesnt mean that all gadgets only have wholesome uses.) I suppose you could also use something like this to program of fleet of computer-operated cars or something more useful to society as a whole. Me? I'm taking mine to Vegas.
