10 Jaw-Dropping Movie Monsters We All Loved To Watch
3. The Pale Man - Pan's Labyrinth (2006)
If there are many film creations which make the skin crawl as much as The Pale Man of Pan's Labyrinth, I'd be astounded to find out what it was. His introduction to the film is subtle, yet disturbing, as he is ever-present in the background, sitting completely motionless. Despite Ofelia's happiness to wander the room, we never take our eyes of the mysterious figure. More and more haunting pictures of the Pale Man and his favourite hobby (eating kiddies) are revealed, and we stare intently at the man at the table until eventually he places his eyes in his hands in what has to be one of the most iconic and unsettling moments in horror movie history, and shuffles his horrible way towards the young girl. We feel exactly as Ofelia would for the rest of that scene; always wanting to look over our shoulder as the shriveled ghoul of a demon lurches ever closer. It's chilling, and yet we never want to take our eyes off the screen; whether that's out of amazement or just to make sure he's not still coming is an entirely different matter.
