4. Not Another Happy Ending
...because he went and cast her as the lead in the romcom,
Not Another Happy Ending, which he directed in 2013! Karen made her leading feature-length film debut in David Solomons's indie comedy as Jane Lockhart, a successful author whose career begins to go down the pan when she realises that she's too happy to finish her latest book. Thankfully, her irritable editor Tom Duvall (Stanley Weber) is on hand to make her miserable again but the worse he makes her feel, the more he realises he's in love with her and... well, you can probably guess what happens next, can't you? Somebody pass us a bucket! Still, it's a nice piece of fluff (if you like that sort of thing) and it's probably the sort of film you'd watch in bed on a Sunday with a big tub of ice cream. Once again Karen is on tip top form as the film affirms that she is more than capable of leading a cast ensemble, which no doubt put her in good stead for what's coming next...
