10 Last-Minute Replacements If Ben Affleck Quits The Batman

1. Karl Urban

Karl Urban has already done a fantastic audition for Batman. It was called Dredd. Comic book adaptation? Check. Gravel-throated protagonist? Check. A total bad ass taking on crime while acting on a loose definition of the law? Check. A charismatic and deadpan lead performance delivered while acting almost entirely with nothing but his chin? Checkmate.

Of course, there is plenty more evidence outside of the 2012 cult classic that prove the 45 year-old New Zealander would make an excellent Batman. A seasoned veteran of big-budget blockbusters with proven action hero credentials, Urban has gone toe-to-toe on the big screen with genre icons Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel and Bruce Willis during his career, while his brief stint on television in the sadly short-lived Almost Human showed the actor to be no slouch at playing a gruff, seasoned detective with a troubled past.

At only two months older than Ben Affleck, Karl Urban would be an ideal replacement should the former give up the part. He has the physical attributes, the look and the screen presence required for such an iconic role, and anybody that's played Dungeons & Dragons with Dame Judi Dench should immediately be launched to the top of any casting list, no questions asked.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
