10 Last-Minute Replacements If Ben Affleck Quits The Batman
2. Luke Evans
Luke Evans has been a regular presence in big-budget blockbusters since the turn of the decade, but still arguably hasn't been given a high-profile role to really sink his teeth into. While it may seem strange to label an actor whose movies have grossed almost $6bn at the global box office as 'underrated', the 38 year-old Welshman is just that.
Usually cast in a supporting role in studio projects, Evans has provided solid backup in the likes of the Hobbit and Fast and Furious franchises, along with Disney's Beauty and the Beast. He even emerged unscathed from the turgid Dracula Untold, with a rare lead performance being one of the movie's few redeeming features. And for the six or seven people that have seen 2012 B-movie No One Lives, there is no denying that Evans owns every scene as the mysterious, charismatic and very murdery 'Driver'.
Recognizable without being too famous, comfortable and experienced working in action-heavy blockbusters with the right look and ability to play characters that are heroic, charming, sinister and even outright violent if necessary, Evans is at the perfect stage of his career to ascend to A-list status and would make a great Batman if Ben Affleck were to walk away from the cape and cowl.
