10 Latest Major Movie Blockbuster Release Date Changes You Need To Know About
6. Spider-Man 3
Production isn't anticipated to begin until Tom Holland finishes working on Uncharted, but Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have clearly decided to take advantage of Avatar 2's delay by moving Spider-Man 3 from November 5th, 2021 to December 17th, later that same year.
Not only does this give them a little more time to put the finishing touches on the threequel, but it's a prime slot which will just so happen to also mark the first time that a Spider-Man movie has been released over the Christmas period. Usually, the web-slinger's adventures are reserved for the summer, so it's going to be very interesting to watch how the Far From Home follow-up performs.
At this point, very little is known about Marvel Studios' plans for this one, but Kraven the Hunter is the rumoured villain, and it's a story which will obviously have to deal with the fallout from Mysterio not only framing Spider-Man for murder, but outing his identity as Peter Parker to the entire world.
In terms of box office competition, Spider-Man 3 will have Black Adam and Sherlock Holmes 3 to contend with, but both are expected to be delayed before too long.
