10 Latest Major Movie Blockbuster Release Date Changes You Need To Know About
3. No Time To Die
The first major blockbuster of 2020 to be delayed (which created something of a domino effect), Daniel Craig's final James Bond movie lost its April release date earlier this year when it was pushed to November. That cost Universal Pictures over $30 million at the time, and it's now been reported that they will make a decision in the coming weeks about whether another delay is necessary.
B25 Ltd, the shell company operated by EON Productions for the purposes of making the film, has been paid back the £199m that it cost to produce, so they and MGM are in no rush to get this out. The possibility of any sort of VOD/Digital release has also been written off, and that means the 25th James Bond movie will get its big screen release even if it's a long time from now.
However, if a report from the always reliable MI6 is to be believed, a decision will be made before No Time to Die's 90-marketing campaign ramps up, and a Summer 2021 debut is now being considered.
