2. Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) - Jack Black
The Premise: Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl loses one of his best friends, and frontman of his band, Kurt Cobain. Now, he must strike out on his own, as he fronts his own rock band. We all know what happened to Nirvana, but the triumph of Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters is a remarkable story. He was one of the most respected drummers of his time, and now he fronts one of the biggest rock bands in the world. Jack Black is surely perfect to play the nicest man in rock. He has the likeability, the passion and actually, the guitar skills to carry off the role, and though he's quite a lot shorter than Grohl - and not all that much similar in looks - there's a common aura between the two men; they're two musicians who have grown up influenced by classic rock, and they both revel in the live side of what they do. If there was ever some kind of chance to get Led Zeppelin involved - Grohl has performed with the legends before - Black would no doubt jump at the chance of the movie. According to reports, he kissed the feet of the band simply so they'd let him use their music in School of Rock.
