10 Legendary Musicians Who Deserve Their Own Biopics (And Who Could Play Them)

7. Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) - Craig Roberts

BiopicmonkeysThe Premise: Four lads from Sheffield become the biggest band in Britain, and talismanic frontman Alex Turner becomes a teenage hero overnight. The introverted Turner grows up and learns how to deal with fame, whilst churning out three more records in as many years. Whilst the story of the Arctic Monkeys is a well-versed one - and one that sees a reprint in NME every time the band release a new record - the character of Alex Turner is about as fascinating a figure as we've seen in music this century. Quietly poetic and brilliantly funny, he seems an unlikely hero of a generation. Young Welshman Craig Roberts, star of Richard Ayoade's Submarine, is the obvious answer of who could play him in a movie. Ayoade's already noted the physical similarity between the two, but Roberts is an actor who exhibits the cool sweetness of Turner. He's no stranger to appearing in coming-of-age, soul-searching productions, and providing he could handle the Sheffield accent, he'd be immersive in the role. It's a movie that has Roberts, and actually Ayoade too, written all over it. Can we please get Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders to appear as himself though? Judging by his online videos, he's charismatic and hilarious enough to warrant a cameo at least.

Mark White hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
