10 Legendary Musicians Who Deserve Their Own Biopics (And Who Could Play Them)

6. Noel Gallagher (Oasis) - John Simm

BiopicoasisThe Premise: 27-year-old Noel Gallagher joins his brother's band, writing songs for the group. They take off, becoming a cultural phenomenon in Britain, with the behind-the-scenes arguments attracting as much attention as the anthemic music. On the subject of charisma, Oasis chief Noel Gallagher has talked at length about what a brilliant story Oasis really was. "I love the scale of it," he maintains, even to this day; the band became the biggest in Britain, starting a huge feud with rivals Blur, and with each other, before dramatically calling it a day in 2009. Fellow Mancunian John Simm seems the obvious candidate to play the older Gallagher sibling. He's an incredibly funny actor, and as demonstrated in BBC's Life On Mars and Doctor Who, he's never more watchable than when he's at odds with another alpha-male. He's no stranger to playing a musician either, having played Bernard Sumner (Joy Division/New Order) in 24 Hour Party People, and he always seems to act with that very-Gallagher, effortless shrug. It's a gripping, roller-coaster tale, if ever there was one; Oasis reached astounding heights, only to plummet right back down. But who would play Liam? Is there an actor capable of portraying such absolute insanity?
