10 Legitimate Criticisms Of The Avengers

9. Why Didn't Stark Warn Everybody Before Confronting Loki?

The-Avengers-Climax-Iron-Man-the-avengers-34726319-1920-1080 Tony Stark is a genius. It's not the most revelatory statement in the world, as he's not exactly shy about it. Not only is he a technological wunderkind turned ultra-mogul, he can turn into quite the strategic mastermind when he wants and can pull apart grand plans using just the grey matter between his ears. So it fits perfectly when he realises where Loki is powering the Tesseract €“ he takes his knowledge of large energy sources, mixes it with his character assessment of the super-villain and cracks the location. Again, perfectly logical when you consider Stark's extraordinary brain. Yet here comes the tricky part. When he's twigged on where all hell is going to break loose, he doesn't do much about it. Oh sure, he sorts himself out with his prototype armour, but I'm talking about the big picture €“ remember, Stark knows there's something awful about to happen in New York, so you'd of thought suggesting an evacuation plan for civilians and getting Nick Fury to start a military defence might be a good idea. Even if the Helicarrier is extremely close to New York, every second would count in getting a cogent battle plan together. Remember, these aliens aren't exactly invulnerable €“ Black Widow can kill them with her small glocks. So really, getting boots on the ground can hardly have been a bad thing. Yet instead, Tony just wings it and delivers an admittedly kickass speech to Loki, leaving New York to get taken by surprise.
