10 Lesser Known Movies To Look Forward To In 2017

The mind of Jordan Peele must be a fabulous place to dwell. Both Key and Peele could be forgiven for milking their team-up cash cow for all the dairy dosh it was worth but instead they decided to keep experimenting.

Keegan-Michael Key starred in the excellent ‘Don’t Think Twice’ as well as appearing alongside Peele in Fargo and Keanu. But Get Out is nothing like this. From the ball busting trailer that sent the Internet into a frenzy, Get Out seems to promise to be a straight-up horror movie with a subtle Black Mirror overtone. There’s glorious horror tropes paraded in front of colonial nuances as a daughter brings her black boyfriend home to meet her suburban parents.

There’s a shifty creepiness concerning race relations in a back woods small town, there’s hypnosis, a dead deer and all manner of surgical implements. Also, it’s just nice to see Bradley Whitford back in something; especially if you’re stuck in the middle of a West Wing binge.

Set for release in February, Get Out could be the gleeful horror everyone is secretly searching for. And if not, then we still have one hell of a trailer to enjoy.

Sometime Brummie with a love for tea, tequila and football teams that don't win a lot of games. Still don't really understand apostrophes.
