10 Lies Told In Recent Movie Trailers

5. Corey Is A Minor Character - Halloween Ends

The final trailer for Halloween Ends was incredibly effective in hyping up the climactic, decades-in-the-making showdown between Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney) and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis).

Like most of the prior trailers, it was devoted to recounting the long-standing feud between Michael and Laurie, and suggested that the film would basically be an epic, revenge-fuelled horror movie as Laurie sought to avenge her daughter Karen's (Judy Greer) death in the previous film, Halloween Kills.

However, the marketing paid hilariously little attention to Halloween Ends' most prominent new character - Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), the love interest of Laurie's granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak).

Corey appears for around 15 seconds in Halloween Ends' final trailer and is basically presented as just another garden variety victim of Michael Myers.

This is despite the fact that Corey is actually the movie's surprise lead, having considerably greater screen time than either Michael or Laurie - a bold move on the part of filmmaker David Gordon Green, albeit one that Universal unsurprisingly attempted to conceal.

After all, the "final" Halloween movie pushing its two central characters to the periphery for the sake of some random new guy is a tough sell, and so the studio straight-up decided to misrepresent the film as something it wasn't.

But this only made many fans even more pissed off, that they'd been duped into shelling out for a Halloween movie that seemingly wanted to be anything but a Halloween movie.
