Fantasy Casting: Keke Palmer
Spectrum is technically already in the MCU, as little Monica Rambeau in Captain Marvel. Seeing as that movie’s set in the past though, by 2020 or beyond when she would debut, she’d be the right age to become a fully fledged hero in her own right.
She not only offers a connection between the Avengers and Captain Marvel, but she brings a completely new power to the MCU. Spectrum is exposed to extra dimensional energy, and as a result can convert her body into pure energy. Like Doctor Strange, she offers untapped cinematic potential.
Speaking of Doctor Strange, Spectrum has teamed up with him and Scarlet Witch previously to essentially form a team of special attackers. Depending on the next big MCU villain, having something other than the pure bulk of Iron Man, Thor and Captain America could be needed.
At one point, she even takes over from Wasp as leader of the Avengers, but let’s not run before we can walk.
Keke Palmer, having already shown herself as the best thing in Scream Queens, needs a breakout role to get her career trajectory up into the stratosphere. She would definitely do Spectrum justice.
