10 Little-Known Movies That You Must Watch In 2015

10. Dummy

Like many other actors honored at the Academy Awards, Adrien Brody was hit by the dreaded Oscar curse. Win an award, star in a series of poorly conceived box office and critical disasters. That's just the way the world works. But he actually shot a really cute independent film back in 2000, one whose 2002 distribution deal was presumably hastened by The Pianist's success that same year. It's about a shy eccentric young man and his foray into ventriloquism, which is alternately aided and impeded by his dysfunctional family and klezmer music-playing best friend Fangora. It only had a limited release in theaters, but was a surprisingly charming and unique film with likable performances from stars Adrien Brody and Milla Jovovich. You might like Dummy if: you have a soft spot in your heart for quirky romantic comedies and need to get your fix of Jessica Walter as a passive aggressive mother now that Arrested Development is off the air.
