10 Long-Awaited Movie Moments That Failed To Live Up To The Hype

6. T-800 Returns - Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation Rumours that Arnold Schwarzenegger was going to reprise his iconic role as the T-800 in Terminator Salvation, a movie that was hyped to bring some dignity back to the franchise after a thoroughly depressing third chapter, gave fans something to drool over in the wake of its release, although nobody was entirely sure whether they'd turn out to be just rumours or not. Thing is, we all knew that the T-800 would appear in one way or another, because that's why everybody watches these movies in the first place. That's what The Terminator is all about, right? Alas, our expectations ended up being kicked around the floor, much as Christian Bale's John Connor was when - wait for it! - a fully CG-rendered Arnold Schwarzenegger stepped out to greet fans of the franchise, complete with iconic Terminator 2: Judgment Day theme playing in the background. This might've been cool had they actually got the real actor in for a couple of days' filming, but there was something awkward and cringeworthy in the idea of a computer-generated Arnie. Like director McG must've felt when he read the reviews, we were crushed.
