7. Why Did Nobody Check It Was Really David? - Alien - Covenant
Prometheus was notorious for its foolish characters, but Alien Covenant turned out to be even worse. Inevitably, this infuriating horror film contains many ridiculous moments, but they saved the biggest insult for the film's ending.
At the end, our hero Daniels (Katherine Waterston) realises right before she is put back in stasis that villainous android David has disguised himself as the identical but benevolent android Walter and is now in control of their ship, despite her belief that he had been killed.
This was possibly the most blindingly obvious twist ending ever and viewers will have guessed it as soon as the end of the David-Walter fight wasn't shown, so why didn't the remaining crew-members? Why didn't they run a check to make sure the android really was Walter?
Additionally, David didn't have time to disguise himself. He'd have needed to change into Walter's clothes and melt off his own hand (a wound Walter had sustained earlier), yet the disguised David is seen running to join Daniels and crew-member Lope (Demian Bichir) just minutes after the fight finishes. He simply couldn't have done these things so quickly.
