10 Maddening Horror Movie Plot Holes
5. Pretty Much The Entire Plot - The Wicker Man (2006)
This remake of the British horror classic is not only one of the worst horror films of all time, but it's also one of the most illogical. Protagonist Edward Malus (A never-crazier Nicolas Cage) heads to a mysterious island in order to track down a missing girl. Once he arrives, not only does he encounter the sinister pagan cult running the island, but he also encounters plot hole after plot hole after plot hole.
There are no phone or internet signals, yet Edward receives a phone-call from the island and the island has its own website. Many bizarre scenarios are encountered, such as fetuses in jars and a house full of naked people covered in bees, yet these moments are never explained or mentioned again.
In another scene, a bunch of elderly women somehow kill and mutilate a pilot when Edward is away for just two minutes, making one wonder if they were secretly superheroes.
Eventually, it's revealed the missing girl was a trick to lure Edward to the island as a human sacrifice, so the cult needed to keep Edward alive until the ceremony... yet in one scene, he is locked in a flooded underground crypt where he could easily have drowned.
